ISCB Does it Again... More Benefits for our Members Worldwide!
Announcing Google apps for all International Society for Computational Biology members: All current members of ISCB can now sign up for a free personal Google apps account that includes all the features of the Google apps Education Edition. Some of these features include:
- Email account with an address in the form of " yourname @iscb.org"
- Calendar
- Documents
- Many more useful and interactive services coming soon
To get started you must register for Google Apps through ISCB as follows:
1.) Login using the login fields at the upper right of this webpage, or at http://www.iscb.org with your ISCB username and password
2.) Next go to My Google Apps Account in your ISCB User menu, or from this page click on this link: https://www.iscb.org/request-iscb-google-account
3.) Complete the registration form with your ISCB username (what you used to login to your ISCB account) and a unique password for your Google apps account. Your ISCB password will not be affected.
4.) After hitting the submit button you will see the page shown below. Please follow the instructions on the page to activate your personal Goggle apps account.
5.) If you prefer that your @iscb.org email messages forward to your work or home email address, be sure to go to the Settings menu inside your Goggle apps account under the menu item "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" (https://mail.google.com/a/iscb.org/#settings/fwdandpop) to set up the forwarding address. To stay actively registered in Google apps you simply need to keep your ISCB membership up to date. Lapsed memberships will automatically disable Google apps accounts (including the elimination of "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." email accounts) after a short grace period, so always be sure to renew before your membership expires!
