  • Affiliated Groups

The ISCB Affiliates program is designed to forge links between ISCB and regional non-profit membership groups, centers, institutes and networks that involve researchers from various institutions and/or organizations within a defined geographic region involved in the advancement of bioinformatics. Such groups have regular meetings either in person or online, and an organizing body in the form of a board of directors or steering committee. If you are interested in affiliating your regional membership group, center, institute or network with ISCB, please review these guidelines (.pdf) and send your exploratory questions to Diane E. Kovats, ISCB Chief Executive Officer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).  For information about the Affilliates Committee click here.

Announcing ISMB 2012 in Long Beach, California, USA

January 28, 2011 -- The ISCB Board of Directors has approved Long Beach, California, USA, as the site of ISMB 2012. The conference will be held July 15-17, 2012, with pre-conference Special Interest Group meetings, Tutorials, and the annual Student Council Symposium planned for July 13-14. Official Satellite Meetings will also be held immediately before and/or after these conference event dates.

All ISMB 2012 sessions will take place at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, which is ideally located just steps from several quality yet affordable hotel options, stylish shops and an eclectic collection of restaurants. The venue also fronts one of the city’s boat/yacht harbors, and is walking distance to the long stretch of sandy beach that gives the city its name. Most participants will fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and take a 30-minute shuttle to Long Beach, but an option to fly directly into the small regional Long Beach Airport (LGB) may be preferable for those arriving from many Western US cities as well as a limited number of cities in the Midwest and East Coast.

As this will be ISMB’s 20th anniversary, special events and celebrations are intended to be incorporated into the conference schedule.  Make sure to put this not-to-be-missed 2012 conference on your calendar now, and help spread the word to your colleagues and collaborators. We look forward to welcoming you!
