Ana Conesa

Ana Conesa is a Research Professor at the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio), CSIC–Universitat de València, and courtesy faculty at the University of Florida, where she previously served as Full Professor. Her research develops statistical methods and bioinformatics software including Blast2GO, NOISeq, maSigPro, and SQANTI3 for transcriptome analysis and multi-omics data integration, with particular focus on long-read sequencing technologies. She has authored over 180 publications, attracted more than 47,000 citations, and secured nearly $19M in research funding. Conesa is Vice-President of the International Society for Computational Biology, an ISCB Fellow, President of the Spanish Society for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and a member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering.
James McInerney
University of Liverpool
James McInerney is an internationally recognized researcher and academic leader with more than three decades of experience in evolutionary biology, genomics, and computational biology. He is currently Head of the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Behaviour at the University of Liverpool and serves on the University Senate.
McInerney has combined scientific research with significant institutional and community leadership. He was among the original proponents of the Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC), helping establish a national computational resource that continues to support research and industry across Ireland. He has also held senior leadership roles at the Universities of Manchester and Nottingham, including serving as Head of Nottingham’s School of Life Sciences.
His research includes a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship focused on machine-learning approaches to understanding pangenomes. He has served as President of the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution and is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and the Linnean Society.
McInerney also serves as Chair of the UK Life Sciences Jury for the Blavatnik Awards and Deputy Chair of BBSRC Committee C.
Ke Yuan is a Lecturer in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow. He received a PhD from the University of Southampton in 2013 advised by Mahesan Niranjan. Till 04/2016, He was a postdoctoral research fellow at Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute at the University of Cambridge working with Florian Markowetz. He joined the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow in 05/2016.
