SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT

Updated Sept 17, 2014

The RECOMB/ISCB Conference on Regulatory and Systems Genomics invites abstracts for consideration for oral presentations or participation in a poster session. Abstracts may be either original unpublished work or original work that was published or accepted for publication at a high-impact journal between January 1 and November 1, 2014. Unpublished work will be considered for either an oral or a poster presentation. Work already accepted for publication will be considered for an oral presentation only.

Abstract Submission deadline: September 12, 2014,  11:59 pm (Pacific Time)

Poster Submission deadline: October 10, 2014,  11:59 pm (Pacific Time)

Abstracts received before the due date will be considered for oral presentations and/or poster presentations. If your abstract is accepted, it will be included in an abstract booklet that will be distributed to all conference participants.

Any abstracts submitted after the deadline will be included only at the discretion of the conference chairs, and will be eligible for poster presentations only. Abstracts sent after the due date will not be included in the abstract booklet due to printing constraints. Please also note that we can only allow one abstract per presenting author.

Any abstract that is not associated with a submitted paper will be treated as a personal communication. Authors reserve the right to publish their work elsewhere.
..........................................................................................................................................

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT

Please use this link to EasyChair to submit your abstract. You will be asked to provide information about yourself and your coauthors, including name, e-mail address, and affiliation. Please check one box for corresponding author to indicate who would be speaking or would be primarily responsible for your poster. You will also be asked to provide an abstract title, the text of your abstract, and keywords.

Important: Please be sure to check the box “abstract only” near the bottom of the page to indicate that your abstract is not being accompanied by a full-length paper.

For Cytoscape poster and App Expo presentations, please use this link to submit your abstract. Please provide author, title, abstract and topic category information. These submissions will be reviewed by Cytoscape core development staff for the DREAM/Cytoscape Poster Session on Monday, November 10 and for the App Expo oral presentation slots on November 11 and 12. The App Expo talks will each be 10 minutes maximum with the goal of introducing your Cytoscape App to systems biology researchers.

SUBMIT A PAPER

The 2014 RECOMB/ISCB Conference on Regulatory and Systems Genomics has developed partnerships with Genome Research, Journal of Computational Biology and Molecular Systems Biology to publish full-length papers submitted to the conference.

Submission Deadline: Friday, July 25, 2014, 11:59 pm (Pacific Time)

We will accept two types of papers for consideration for publication.

  • Research article papers will be considered for publication in Genome Research and Molecular Systems Biology. Appropriate experimental validation data is required for manuscript to be considered for this track.
  • Theory papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of Computational Biology.

..........................................................................................................................................

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PAPER

Please use this link to EasyChair to submit your paper. Please DO NOT submit your manuscript directly to the journal.

You will be asked to provide information about yourself and your coauthors, the title and abstract for your paper, and keywords. The button to upload your paper is at the bottom of the form, and EasyChair requires that it be submitted as a pdf file. If you do not already have an EasyChair account, you can log in to create one at the link.

IMPORTANT: In the "Keywords" field, please indicate the journal(s) whom you would like to consider your paper for publication. You can indicate Genome Research,  Journal of Computational Biology or Molecular Systems Biology as keywords. If you would like to submit your paper for consideration at all publications, please indicate the names of all journals as separate keywords on three lines, in addition to other keywords that are relevant to your paper.

Please see the journal websites for information about formatting requirements (see author guidelines for Genome Research, the Journal of Computational Biology and Molecular Systems Biology). Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words.
..........................................................................................................................................

REVIEW PROCESS

Manuscripts will be reviewed by the program committee, and papers judged to be of high merit will be selected for fast-track submission to one of our partner journals. High-quality papers that are primarily computational or theoretical in focus will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be published by the Journal of Computational Biology. Selected papers with strong experimental validation will be submitted to the editorial board of Genome Research and Molecular Systems Biology for their consideration on an expedited basis, though the final decision about publication will be made by the Journal editors. If your paper is submitted to Genome Research or Molecular Systems Biology and the editors decide against publishing it, it will not be eligible for publication in the proceedings published in the Journal of Computational Biology.

The corresponding author for each of the accepted full-length papers will be invited to give an oral presentation at the conference.

Only papers that are judged by the organizing committee to be of the highest quality will be selected for submission to our partner journals. If you submit a paper and the committee decides against recommending it for publication, you may still be invited to participate in a poster session. Abstracts for accepted papers and for poster presentations will be included in a conference program booklet, which will be distributed at the meeting and available online.
