Board &
President Elect Nominations
The Call for
Nominations went out, and ISCB members and Affiliated Regional Groups
returned a positive response by submitting a total of 36 nominations
for members representing eight countries to fill up to ten possible
seats on the Board of Directors. The nominations process opened
with the announcement of an online submission form in mid Februaryby
the
deadline two months later nine members had offered their services
to the board through self nominations and 27 nominees were put forth
by their peers. In addition, three nominations were received for
President-Elect, which is a new Officer/Executive Committee position
of the ISCB intended to serve as next in line for the Presidency.
The next step
in the process is for each Board nominee to evaluate his or her
desire and ability to serve as an ISCB Board Member and then complete
the board candidate acceptance form and questionnaire by the deadline
of May 16, 2003. As new Board Members are voted in by the existing
and outgoing Board, the final decision will be made at the annual
Board of Directors meeting on June 29, just prior to the start of
ISMB 2003 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
