Since 1999, Bioinformatics.ca has served as a hub for bioinformatics and computational biology for Canadian researchers. Through the Canadian Bioinformatics Workshops, Bioinformatics.ca provides short-form training to Canadian and international researchers on a range of current bioinformatics topics from single-cell RNA sequencing and proteomics to pharmacogenomic analysis. Bioinformatics.ca also supports local communities through its Bioinformatics User Groups (BUGs) and promotes Canadian bioinformatics experts and post-secondary programs.

The SFBI is the French Bioinformatics Society. X-omics is a National Roadmap Large-Scale Research Infrastructure, partially funded by NWO with a budget of 40 million euro. X-omics aims to establish a multi-omics research infrastructure across the Netherlands, by combining technologies in the field of genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and data analysis, integration & stewardship. With this infrastructure biomedical problems can be solved using an integrated approach. Two major goals are:
- Advance X-omics technologies far beyond state-of-art,
- Realize an integrated X-omics infrastructure.
