All international visitors, regardless of country of origin, must present a passport when entering the United States, and in many cases an entry visa is also required.
It is essential that delegates arriving from outside the US have a valid passport with expiration at least six months after the planned date of entry, and any other required travel documents such as an entry visa. Please ensure that you allow enough time to apply for an entry visa (suggest applications be submitted 10 - 12 weeks in advance ) should one be required for your arrival and participation at ISMB 2016 in Orlando, United States. Paid registration must be received by ISMB 2016 before a visa letter can be provided, so early registration is suggested for all delegates requiring an entry visa.
Details are available on a number of websites including:
Travel to the USA: http://www.discoveramerica.com/ca/entry.html
USA Visas: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/visit/visitor.html
ISCB and the ISMB 2016 conference organizers assume no responsibility for the accuracy of information on any of the above websites, and encourage you to communicate directly with the US Embassy or US Consulate office that services your particular needs for entry into the United States.
Invitation letters required for visa applications will be sent with your confirmation after registration and full payment have been received. You must be registered and paid-in-full for the conference in order to receive an invitation letter. IMPORTANT: If you require a visa for entrance register early, it can take time for your visa application to be processed (often 10-12 weeks) - do not delay in submitting your visa application.

ISMB 2016 will host several one- and two-day Special Interest Group meetings on Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9, prior to the main ISMB conference.
Note: SIG Registrants are not required to register for the ISMB 2016 conference to attend a SIG meeting. You may select "SIG only" to register only for a SIG.
Registering for a SIG allows you to move freely between all SIGs that take place at the same time as the meeting for which you are registered, to the extent that the room capacities can accommodate. SIG registration does not allow access to Satellite Meetings.
Registering for a SIG:
During online registration you must register for the primary SIG of your choice on a daily basis. If you register for the first day of a two-day SIG meeting the registration system will automatically select the second day. If you want to attend only one-day of a two-day SIG, or prefer an alternate SIG on the second day, simply deselect the second day and leave empty or select the second SIG choice rather than the default choice. If registering for a two-day SIG, the registration fee is equal to two (2) daily rates.
Each SIG participant will receive a booklet of schedules for all SIGs. SIG meeting's abstracts in PDF format will be available on individual SIG websites. Lunch is included in the SIG registration fee.
Please register for the SIG in which you are most interested so that we can assign SIGs to larger and smaller rooms as needed. All SIG meetings will be held at the Walt Disney Swan World Hotel.
NOTE: SIG registrants who have registered for only one day of SIG meetings are able to participate in SIG meetings only on the day for which they have registered.

As federal funding opportunities continue to decline, ISCB reaches out to you to help this important initiative. Each year ISCB receives over 300 travel fellowship requests. With currently available funds, we can only support approximately 70% of these requests by providing partial funding to each recipient. Making a donation to the travel fellowship fund will enable us to support even more students with higher travel awards

**Call for Arts and Science Submission Site* Opens February 29, 2016
Chair: Milana Frenkel-Morgenstern, Bar-Ilan University, Safed, Israel
The Art & Science Exhibition is an event organized by the ISCB Student Council, a student-led section of ISCB whose mission is the development of the next generation of computational biologists.
The conference will bring together scientists from a wide range of disciplines, including biology, medicine, computer science, mathematics and statistics. In these fields we are constantly dealing with information in visual form: from microscope images and photographs of gels to scatter plots, network graphs and phylogenetic trees, structural formulae and protein models to flow diagrams, visual aids for problem-solving are omnipresent. Some of the works of the annual exhibitions at the conference combines outstanding beauty and aesthetics with deep insight that perfectly proves the validity of our approach or goes beyond the problem's solution. Others were surprising and inspiring through the transition from science to art, opening our eyes and minds to reflect on the work that we are undertaking.
For the Art & Science Exhibition the organizers invite all interested conference attendees (hereafter referred to as "artists") to submit images that have been generated as part of a research project. They are also soliciting images from creative efforts that involve scientific concepts or employ scientific tools and methods.
Participate in this exciting event to surprise and inspire us, to open our eyes and minds.

Venkata Satagopam, Luxembourg Centre For Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), University of Luxembourg
Ricardo de Matos, Simoes, QUB/CCRCB, Belfast, United Kingdom
Images will automatically be entered in a contest for a $200 (USD) award unless the artist indicates during the submission process that the work should be excluded from the contest.
Conference delegates will select the winner of the contest through majority vote based on their personal preference. Each delegate will have one vote.
An artist can be an individual or a group of individuals. Space for physical presentation of images is limited and will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. *Please note only submissions that do not require Audio Visual support will be accepted.
The artwork may deal with any theme in science but the organizers are particularly interested in work that is reflecting on topics related to Computational and Molecular Biology. While artistic freedom is a primary concern of the organizers the nature of the event requires certain restrictions on the content of the artwork. Artwork that contains sexual, political or religious themes cannot be accepted into the exhibition and will be rejected. Works created for commercial purposes will also be rejected.
The final artwork has to be submitted for review before the deadline through the online submission system. Together with the artwork a brief description of the work has to be submitted as well as a title for the work. The description must not be longer than 150 words.
Images to be presented in physical form must be smaller than 43 x 43 (109.2 cm x 109.2 cm). They must not be deeper than 0.5 (1.2 cm) and must be attachable to a poster board using push pins or velcro. The organizers recommend to leave a sufficiently wide border around the artwork and to carefully consider the size of photos and the amount of detail included in images. All images must be submitted in their final form and resolution. In case of images employing non-digital media a high-resolution digital photo of the artwork has to be submitted. Images can be submitted in PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF or PDF format. The file size must not exceed 25 MB. Accepted works must be provided by the artist for inclusion of the show. (The conference organizers will not print the art works)
All submitted artwork will be reviewed for compliance with content restrictions as well as technical requirements. Artwork out of compliance will be rejected. Furthermore, the organizers reserve the right to reject artwork for any reasons.
Copyrights and Permissions
The artist must be holding the copyrights for all parts of the artwork or have permission from the copyright holders to use their works. Copyright holders other than the artist must be attributed accordingly in the abstract accompanying the artwork.
By submitting artwork to the Art and Science Exhibition the artist gives permission to the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) to display this work and reproductions thereof during the conference and in materials associated with this and future ISCB events, such as program booklets, (electronic) newsletters, promotional brochures and websites.
