WEB2021: Making training materials FAIR - experiences, challenges, solutions

Attention Presenters - please review the Speaker Information Page available here
Schedule subject to change
All times listed are in UTC

Sharing data has become common practice around the globe, and training is part of this trend. This PLoS 10 simple rules paper published last year introduced tips and tricks on how to make training materials FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable), which encouraged trainers to share their materials with others, and facilitated this process.

This year, the WEB (Workshop on Education for Bioinformatics) will be a dedicated forum for training providers, trainers and trainees to share their experiences of making training materials FAIR. The WEB will be composed of short presentations from invited speakers who have been through this process, where they will introduce their approaches, challenges and solutions. During the breakout sessions, the participants will further discuss in groups, their own challenges, questions, issues, ideas and solutions for the FAIRification of training materials. The outcomes of this workshop will feed into future workshops/hackathons that will provide instructions on making materials FAIR.

Audience:
Trainers and training providers who wish to make the most of their training materials by making them FAIR.

This workshop is organised and supported by GOBLET, the Global Organisation for Bioinformatics Learning, Education and Training and the ISCB Education COSI.
